Word cards: how it works

A word card is one screen with everything about a German word: the article in colour, the plural or the verb forms, a picture, an example with sound, and your own rating. Forward translation and Reverse translation are built on it, as a plain Card or as the Cube, which asks about every side of the word. Each part below has a short video and the same screens, step by step.

  1. sub. means noun. The article's colour is the gender, and the plural sits right below

  2. Every label with ▶ plays: the word, the plural, the example. Top right: sound on or off

  3. Show the meaning: the meaning, then the example with its translation, read aloud

  4. Rate yourself: Again, Hard, Good, Easy. Above each: when the card comes back

  5. Some nouns have no plural, some are plural only: the card says it under the word

  5. bestehen aus +Dat: the case has its colour, and the same colour marks it in the meaning

  6. Two prepositions, two colours: mit +Dat, über +Akk. ▶ on the word reads the pattern
